Mr. Crawford, a former resident here, was born near Belding, March 21, 1865. He taught school at Cook’s Corners in 1888-89, where he married Effie Curtis, August 15, 1889. They moved to East St. Louis 30 years ago, where he was mayor of Washington Park, a suburb of that place, at the time of his death. He was a member of the Masonic order. Surviving beside the wife are: one brother, Emmett Crawford, of Six Lakes; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Cora Skellenger and Mrs. Milo Richmond, of Belding; five nieces and two nephews. A short prayer service was held at Cooks Corners Saturday with Rev. Hubert S. Ellis officiating, and burial was in Otisco cemetery.
