Elmer H. Creighton, 74, died Monday at his Portland home on Clarksville Road.  
He was born Nov. 21, 1910, in Ionia County to Peter and Adeline Campbell 
Creighton.  He was a retired farmer and blacksmith.

Having served in World War II in the Air Force, he was an active member in both 
the VFW and American Legion Post of Portland.  He was also a 35-years member of 
the Sunfield Lions Club.

Never married, he is survived by a brother: Harold of Lansing and a sister, 
Mrs. Alfred Robinson of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Mapes-Fisher Funeral 
Home, with burial in Sebewa Baptist Cemetery.  The family will be at the 
funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
