Lake Odessa Wave
          SERVICES HELD FOR ATHUR CREIGHTON
   Funeral services were held for Arthur Creighton, 75, of Rte. 1 Portland, Monday
aftenoon August 3, from the Mapes, Fisher Funeral Home in Sunfield.
   Mr. Creighton passed away at his farm home on Clarksville Rd., on July 30,
following a long illness.
   He was born February 25, 1889 in the same house where he died.  His parents were
James and Elmira (Holmes) Creighton  Mr. Creighton was a World War I Veteran and a farmer.
   Surviving are his wife, Elfa, who he married April 19, 1946, three sons, Carl of
Portland, Fred of Sidney, and Rex of Clarksville, Ten grandchildren, and one great 
grandchild.  Officiating at the 2 p.m. rites were Rev. Paul Boges of Grandville, and 
Rev. Paul Boges of Grandville, and Rev. Roy Houghton of Lake Odessa.  Interment 
was in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.  Casket bearers were Max VanHouten, Earl
Goodemoot, Thomas Rosher, Marshall Thorp, Ted Foltz, and Lyle Kneale.  Honorary 
bearers were World War I Veterans _ Barracks 2161 of Lake Odessa.

   Creighton --- No words can express our heartfelt thanks for all the wonderful
things, our good friends and neighbors did for us during the sickness and loss of 
our Beloved Husband, Father and grand father, Arthur Creighton.  The food brought 
in, flowers, cards, phone calls, money, Ministers, Mapes and Fisher Funeral 
Home, and a special thanks for the Sunfield Fire department, and World War I
Veterans, Barracks 2161 and Ladies Auxillary.  Many thanks to all of you.
