A. Cribb which occurred at the family residence on Ann St. in the second ward about two o’clock Wednesday morning, came as a great surprise and shock to her friends and acquaintances, some of whom did not even know of her sickness, and but few supposed it to be of a dangerous nature. Pneumonia was the cause of death and her final illness was of short duration. Her maiden name was Lydia Cook and she had the hoor of being the first white girl born in Grattan township. She was 55 years of age the second day of March and had been married to Mr. Cribb 34 years Jan. 26th last. They were the parents of six children, Joe who died 8 years ago, Blanche, who died 4 years ago, and Maurice, Spencer, Nana and Irving who with the devoted husband are left to mourn her loss. They came to Belding from Smyrna nine years ago to reside, and had previously lived in Naples, N.Y. The funeral services will be held from the home at 2 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Cribb was greatly beloved by a large circle of friends and will be greatly missed.
