Carmel hospital in Detroit following a 10 day illness. Funeral service was held at Harris funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with burial at White Chapel cemetery. He was born in Benzie county near Frankfort. From there his parents moved to Illinois and later to Michigan and settled first in Berlin then Ionia township. Mr. Crispin attended and graduated form Ionia high school in 1887 and went to Defiance, Ohio, where he met and married Emma Parker. She preceded him in death in 1957 after an extended illness. Mr. Crispin joined the First Baptist church of Ionia in 1884 and continued as a member until leaving the city. He lived in Jackson and later moved to Detroit where he resided until his death. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist church many years and for the past seven years was a member of Covenant Baptist church. Surviving are two sons, John W. Crispin and Dwight M., living at the family home; a granddaughter, Mrs. Dale Baumeister of Detroit; a grandson, John, Jr., of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren; and his sister, Ethel S. Crispin of Ionia, with whom he spent much of the latter part of his life.
