Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Aug 1975

Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Croel, 70, of 406 Isham, Lyons, died Wednesday at her 
home of a heart attack.  Born October 29, 1904, she was the daughter of Harlan 
and Alice Peacock.  July 31, 1923, she was married at LeValley United Methodist 
parish to Ray L. Croel and the couple celebrated 52 years of marriage this year.

Surviving besides the husband, Ray, are two sons, Ray Lewis Croel of Lyons, and 
Earl Arthur Croel of Belding; two daughters, Mrs. Marion Pritchard of Lyons, 
and Laura Croel of Lansing; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; 
four brothers Homer Peacock of Florida, Howard of Muskegon, Robert of West 
Branch and Wayne of Morley; three sisters, Mrs. Ivah Guernsey of Hastings, Mrs. 
Ruth Peterson of Ionia and Mrs. Catherine Smith of Portland.  Two daughters 
preceded her in death.  Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Hull 
Memorial chapel at Muir.  Dr. Lloyd Walker of the LeValley United Methodist 
church will officiate and interment will be at the Tuttle cemetery.
