She was a lifelong resident of Ionia county having been born in Orange township March 6, 1888, the daughter of Charles and Hattie VanSicklen Rice. She attended Riker school and Lyons High school. She was married in Ionia, June 17, 1919, to Lawrence A. Croel and attended LeValley United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; son, Robert, and daughter Elizabeth Croel of rural Lyons; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at LeValley United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald R. Fry will officiate and interment will be at Tuttle cemetery. Family will be at the Leddick Funeral Home to receive friends and relatives Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for LeValley United Methodist Church. SARAH E.CROEL-Wed.
