Ionia Sentinel Standard - December 18, 1965

MRS. MAE CROEL

Mrs. Mae Croel, 85, route one, Lyons, died at 8 o'clock Friday night at Ionia 
county Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient two months.

A lifelong resident of Ionia township, she was born April 26, 1880, the daughter 
of Charles and Mary McQuillan Somers. June 15, 1904 she was married to Claude 
Croel and lived all her married life on the present farm. Mr.Croel died in 1955.

Mrs.Croel is survived by a son, Charles of orange township; one daughter, 
Mrs.Roy Sypher of Ionia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three 
brothers, Arthur Somers of Cherry grove, Alberta, Canada; William of Tacoma, 
Wash., and Bernard of Flint. A daughter, Anna, died in May 1950.

Mrs.Croel was a farm Bureau member.

Funeral service will be at Boynton Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Earle 
J.Stine will officiate and burial will be at Tuttle Cemetery.
