Mrs. Croel, who lived in Ionia township, was taken to the hospital a week ago. She was the wife of William Croel. A lifelong resident of Ionia county, being born at Belding, March 20, 11, Mrs. Croel had been a rural school teacher in Ionia county for many years. She was an active member of the LeValley church, south of Ionia. Survivors are Mr. Croel; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Smith, of Ionia, and two sons, William and Russell Croel, both of Ionia and seven grandchildren, three brothers, Berthold Chickering of Orleans, Clarence Chickering of Belding and Ernest Chickering of Orleans, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Lind, of Lowell. Funeral services are to be conducted from the Boynton funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment at Tuttle cemetery. The Rev. Marcius Tabor, pastor of the LeValley church, will officiate at the service.
