The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 25, 1919


Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cronk of Harrison street left last week Monday to make a 
visit at the home of Mr. Cronk’s parents at Somcoe, Ontario.  The six children 
went with them, and before they reached Detroit, the youngest, Alferna (a baby 
of four months), became very sick.  The journey was continued and on Friday the 
child died of pneumonia, making a very sad trip of what was to have been a gay 
little vacation journey and visit.  The remains arrived here on Saturday at 
3:30, Rev. C. C. Buckner officiating, and the interment was in the family lot 
at Highland Park.
