CRONK
Francis "Darb" Cronk, Jr., 85, of Mackinaw City, passed away December 1, 2019 
at home. He was born September 20, 1924 to Francis and Cleobelle Cronk.

Darb lived most of his life in the Ionia Area. He served in the Navy Reserve. 
He loved to farm, and was an avid bike rider, pedaling from Ionia to mackinaw 
City solo. He made the trip annually for many years with the company of a 
family member until an injury made the long trip impossible.

After retiring from GM in Lansing, he and Judy, hi living, devoted wife of 59 
years, made the permanent move to Mackinaw City. There he became an active 
member in the American legion Post #159. He loved playing pool and weekly 
trips with Judy.

Darb leaves behind wife, Judy; sons, Dennis Cronk of Grand Ledge, Brian 
(Brenda) Cronk of Ionia; daughters, dawn (Darrell) Reynolds of Ionia, Lori 
Christiansen of Florida, and daughter-in-law Pamela Cronk of Delaware. Twelve 
grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-
grandchildren; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Cronk of Clarksville; sisters, 
Beverly Hodgkins and Wanda Marcussen of Ionia; many nieces, nephews, and 
friends.

Darb was preceded in death by his parents; son Chief Warrant Officer 3 Shawn 
Cronk, grandson Neil Smejkal, brothers, Glen, Richard and John; nieces Kacee 
and Heather Cronk and great-niece Brittany Cronk.

Darb was a good husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, big brother, friend and will be 
missed by all. 

At Darb's request, cremation has taken pace and no services will be held.
