She will be missed dearly by her mother, Amy Joy Cronk, her father, Robert Paul Cronk, younger siblings, Megan Ann-Marie Cronk and Robert Michael Cronk, grandparents Dan and Joy Ayres of Saranac, Michigan, Bob and Bonnie Cronk of Clarksville Michigan, and Bill and Judy Welling of Ely, Minnesota. Brittney has touched too many lives to count, her glowing spirit was too powerful to ignore. If Brittney could be described in three ways, it would be happy, free and tremendously strong. It didn’t take much to make her happy, whether it be balloons, ice cream, or Toy Story, she always had a smile on her face. It was her happiness that was contagious. She knew how to light up a room and how to work a room to find that one individual who would give her anything she wanted. She was easy to love. Brittney was a student at Ionia Freedom Acres and, with much thanks to her care staff, she moved into her own apartment in March of 2015 where she flourished more than anyone could believe. In her time of living in her own home, she learned that she loved to be independent. She never let, what could have been perceived as, chains hold her back. Instead, she used them as a stairway to rise above everything she had ever known. Brittney will not be an easy person to let go of. Brittney was everybody’s strong hold, everybody’s reason to keep pushing through anything. She taught us what happiness truly meant and felt like. She showed us that we don’t have chains, we have wings; and we don’t have to be defined. Brittney had a heart of gold and the wings of an angel. And now, Brittney really is soaring with the angels. You will be forever loved and missed, our little miracle. Funeral services were held at the Kilpatrick United Brethren Church of Woodland on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 3 p.m. with a visitation service held beforehand at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help cover final expenses.
