HERBERT W. CROSBY
A Portland area farmer, Herbert W. Crosby, 47,  of route two, Portland, died
Friday.

He was born May 27, 1919, in Belding to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crosby. Mr. Crosby was a

World War II veteran, member of Portland Baptist church, Ionia Farm Bureau and
Portland garage. During the past year he had been employed with the U.S. Soil Conservation 
department.

Surviving are his wife, Florence, one son, Gordon, his parents, mrs. and Mrs. Albert
Crosby of Portland, and one sister Mrs. Kenneth Jameson of Portland.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Neller funeral home in Portland. Burial will
be in Portland cemetery. Rev. Morris Christenson will officiate.
