Aug. 8, 1935 Well Known Woman Dies in Greenville Another well known, elderly woman has answered the last summons, Mrs. Nettie Crosby, 80, of Greenville. About four weeks ago Mrs. Crosby suffered a slight stroke, since that time she has been gradually failing until death came Sunday night shortly before 10 o'clock. Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Crosby were former residents of Masonic avenue, this city, having moved to Greenville 21 years ago. Mr. Crosby passed away in 1919. Since that time she had spent the winters in the Soldiers Home, Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held at the late home, 315 E. Washington street in Greenville, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, with burial in the family lot in River Ridge cemetery. During the past few weeks Mrs. Duane Foss of Greenville, and Mrs. Clarence Chickering of near Orleans, have been caring for their mother. Surviving besides the two daughters is a sister, Mrs. Carrie Quiggle, who resides in North Dakota. the deceased was active in the Women's Relief Corps and Daughters of Veterans organization, as well as the Baptist church. Mrs. Crosby was a person who enjoyed people and will be missed by a host of friends.
