Hasting's Reminder - Sat. January 21, 2023

                        RONALD EUGENE CROSBY SR.

Ronald Eugene Crosby Sr., age 79 of Lake Odessa, MI, passed away Jan.11, 2023. 
Ron was born on November 13, 1943, to Walter and Theo (Dailey) Crosby in 
Hasting, MI.

Ron went to work for General Motors right out of high school and retired after 
42 years in tool repair. During his time at GM, he also farmed with his dad.

In his free time, he loved to run in demolition derbies and was one of the 
longest running drivers in the Lake Odessa derbies starting in 1969. Ron also 
loved landscaping and construction.He built two family homes from the ground up 
and helped numerous family members with additions and remodels.

In later years Ron and his wife, Laurie traveled extensively around the country 
and visited family in Europe.When they were not traveling, he and Laurie 
volunteered at church and IM Kids 3rd Meal of Ionia.

He is survived by his children, Ronald (Leslee)Crosby Jr., Kristine Crosby, 
Raymond Crosby, and Robert (Cristina) Crosby; brother, Larry Crosby; sister, 
Margie Crosby; grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Troy, Zach, Ray Jr., and Alex; and 
six great-grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Crosby, sister, Janet 
Mooney; his wives, Kay, Sue, and Laurie.

A Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday Jan. 21, 2023 at the Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service 
(3-4 p.m.)
