February 19, 2022 DONALD E. CROSS Donald E. Cross, age 86, of Lake Odessa, MI. went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2022. Don was born on November 12, 1935, inLake Odessa, a son of Allen J.Cross and Leah (Beland) Cross, the middle of five, he grew up on the family farm in Portland and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1954 in Lake Odessa. Don served his country in the United States Arm, worked for the United States Postal Service and worked 38 years for Keeler Brass. In his younger years enjoyed riding his Harley Davison motorcycles, snowmobiling, ice fishing, mushroom hunting, cutting wood, planting and growing his own potatoes, tomatoes and several other vegetables. After retirement, Don spent his winters in Lake Placid, FL. He enjoyed the sunshine, walking, boating and many good friends. He attended memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid, Fl. as well as Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa, MI. He was an active member with the VFW. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, both in Florida and Michigan. Don is survived by his loving companion, Bonnie Edsall, and her daughter Kim Edsall; his son, Brian; daughters, Lisa (Bill) Koster, Sonya (Bob) Rowe; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brothers Robert (Judy) Cross, Dean (Maureen) Cross, Kendall Cross; sister, Elaine (Don) Nash; cousins, including a special cousin and life-time friend, Ray Cross and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Leah Cross, mother of his children, Dawn Hogan Cross Pelton; sister-in-law, Jerilou Cross, his brother,Kendall's special friend, Joy Boger and adoring granddaughter, Melissa Rowe. In lieu of flowers, you many contribute to an organization of your choice. A Celebration of Life service will be planned for a later date.
