Washington St., where he has been a boarder. His death was quite sudden, as he was walking on the street Thursday, looking much as usual. He was never married, and leaves no near relatives, except a niece, Mrs. Fanny Spaulding of Lyons. Mr. Crossett served three years in the war in the First Mich Cavalry. He made his home with his sister, living for several years in Ronald and later in Easton. On the death of his sister, about two years ago, he came into town to live, and finally took up his abiding place at the Plant home. He found a congenial companion in Mr. Plant and it is presumed that the death of his friend less than a week ago was a shock that affected him seriously. He was 78 years old, a quiet, unassuming man, thoroughly reliable, and a good citizen in every way. The funeral was held at the Bradley undertaking rooms on Monday afternoon at 1:30. Interment in North Plains cemetery. ---- About twenty five members of the G.A.R. post attended the funeral of Reuben Crossett at Bradleys undertaking rooms Monday p.m. E.L. Shattuck, A.H. Guernsey, W.E. Normington, Geo. Corey, Robt. Carpenter and Nathaniel Winslow served as bearers. Rev. Branch conducted the service. Burial took place in North Plains.
