DORIS A. CROWLEY 1936-2016
Doris A. Crowley, 8, of Ionia, MI, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016. Doris was
born Doris Ann Bauer on Jan. 15, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. She was the daughter of Leo
and Rose Bauer.

Doris was a 1953 graduate from St. Mary High School, Lansing, where she attended
with her classmate and husband to be, Jim Crowley. They met by chance five years after 
graduation and began dating. They were married in 1960 and began their family life
in Lansing. Doris became Mom to three children; Patrick Crowley, Susan Furseth of East
Lansing, and Paula Geldhof of Ionia and was grandmother to four grandchildren and
one great grandchild.

Doris is preceded in death by her son, Patrick Crowley, sister Arlene (Hamilton )
and brothers Vernon and Bob. She is now grieved by her surviving Bauer and Crowley
family members.

Doris enjoyed her piano, gardening, quiet companionship, leisurely travels and
especially grandchildren. Her life experiences in Lansing, Houghton and Ionia only helped add
to this wonderful mom.  

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, 10 a.m., at St. Mary 
Cathedral, Lansing, with Msgr. Bernard Reilly as celebrant. Interment will follow at
St.Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing,. The family will receive friends Wednesday
from 4-9 p.m at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen family Funeral Homes, Delta chapel, 6020 W.
Saginaw, Lansing and Thursday from 9:15 a.m. until service time at the church. A vigil
service will be held Wednesday evening, 6 p.m., at the funeral home . For those wishing, memorial 
contributions may be made to Mother Teresa House, 308 N. Walnut St., Lansing, MI.
