The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, January 29, 1902


Chas. Crum died suddenly last Monday morning at the residence of his son 
Samuel, southeast of Saranac.  He went to the barn to milk in the morning and 
did not return as he should.  His daughter-in-law made a search for him and 
found him lying in the stable almost under the hind feet of one of the 
horses.  His death was caused from apopleptic stroke.  He was about 80 years 
old and had lived in this section of the country for many years.
