Aaron B. Cruttenden, age 25, of Mesa, AZ, died Nov. 7, 2010 in Kumar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire while in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to the 27th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC. Full military honors were held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction. Aaron was born Sept. 26, 1985 in Battle Creek. He spent his childhood in Mesa, AZ and Lake Odessa, MI. he enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, snowboarding, logging, the outdoors and his family. He is survived by his daughter, Dusti-Rai Ferrin of Nucla, CO; his parents, Yvonne and Scott Featheringill of Hotchkiss, CO and Steve Cruttenden and Annete Roth of Lake Odessa; his brothers, Austin Cruttenden of Fort Collins, CO, Spender Featheringill, Dakota Featheringill, both of Hotchkiss, CO, Tavis White, and Dustyn White, both of Mesa, AZ; his sisters, Savana White, Jennifer White, both of Mesa, AZ, and Alicia Cruttenden of Hotchkiss, CO: and his grandparents, Lynn and Shirley Wencel of Apache Junction, AZ, and Frank and Pat Cruttenden of Delton. A memorial service will be held at the Lake Odessa VFW, 3600 W.
