The owner of the splendid stock, William Culmer, was apparently in the best of health. After the sale he remained on the farm to get everything in shape to move to the home of a niece where he planned to make his home. He contracted a “cold” and not getting any better a neighbor Donald Goodemoot took him to the Ward Branson home in Berlin, (Mrs. Branson being a niece) where he was cared for. Pneumonia set in and he passed away Wednesday morning. He leaves a mother and sister in Illinois. Word has been received by Wortley & Baine, undertakers, that friends from Illinois left Thursday morning for Michigan. Arrangements for burial await these friends arrival. ---- Obituary of William Culmer William J. Culmer was born at Northville, LaSalle county, Illinois, August 17, 1865. He was the oldest son of John and Sarah Culmer. He spent the greater part of his life in and around Northville with the exception of five years spent in the west.
