Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Oct 1983

Marion F. Culver, 74, Ionia, died Thursday at Ionia Manor.

He was born in Montcalm County July 5, 1909, the son of Sylvester and Gertrude 
Darling Culver.  He attended schools in Ionia, and worked for the Civilian 
Conservation Corps in 1933 and 1934.  He then went to work at Fisher Body in 
Lansing, before serving with the United States Army Air Corps in China during 
World War II.  He returned to Ionia upon his discharge in 1945, and married 
Elizabeth Foreman May 10, 1947 here.  He later worked for TRW in Portland for 
15 years before retiring in 1971.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Barbara Williams of 
Pewamo and Margaret Hoeksema of Grandville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home, with 
the Rev. Larry Frye of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church officiating.  Burial 
will be in Highland Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and 
relatives at the funeral home today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
