Lake Odessa Wave-Times - January 7, 1974

Agnes Culver
Mrs.Agnes Culver, 61, of Sparta, former resident of rural Sunfield, passed away 
December 31 at a Lansing Hospital.

She was born Sept. 30 1912 in Sunfield township, daughter of William and Ona 
(Wescott) Blackner and had lived most of her life in the Sunfield area. She was 
a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Sparta.

Surviving are her husband Orla; two sons, Roger of Flat rock and Robert of Lake 
Odessa; 3 daughters, Mrs Doris Wolf of Charlotte, Mrs Lois Johansen of 
Bentonville, Ark., and Mrs Polly Black of Joliet, Ill; three sisters, Mrs 
Dorothy Woodworth of Mulliken, Mrs Iva Laurell of Comstock Park and Mrs Ellen 
Clawson of Laredo, Texas; two brothers, John Hubbard of Belding  and David 
Blackner of Eaton Rapids; seven grandchildren and several step grand and great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Thursday, January 3 at the Mapes-Fisher Funeral 
Home at Sunfield. Pastor Dean Burns of Grand Ledge officiated with burial in the  
East Sebewa Cemetery.
