Ionia Daily Standard, 1 Aug 1901

Percy Cummings, aged 15, while drunk fell between the wheel and the shaft of the
buggy while driving home last night and was carried thus for several miles.  His
half brother, Jim, aged 33, was with him but in a drunken stupor, and when
sufficiently aroused to realize the situation Percy was wedged in so closely
that he could extricate him only by taking the wheel off.  The boy died in a few
minutes.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Muir Cemetery.]
