The daughter of Clyde & Erma (Hazzard) Sanborn, she was born on March 12, 1955 in Carson City. She was a graduate of Yankee Road Christian School, near Lakeview, and married Timothy J. Cummins on Dec. 2, 1978 in Lansing. A good Christian wife and mother, she was a member of the Jesus Non-Denominational Church and was a strong “prayer warrior” especially in recent years as she was home-bound due to her failing health. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rose Murden; and a brother, Anson Sanborn. Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Timothy J. Cummins; their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cummins, both of Greenville; two sisters, Betty Putnam and Shirley Smith; two brothers, Roy Sanborn and Clyde “Butch“ & Kim Sanborn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also blessed to have many friends that she considered “family.” Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Jesus Non-Denominational Church, 9206 W. Peck Road off of M-91, Greenville, with Pastor Tommy Turner of the Jesus Non-Denominational Church and the Rev. James E. Wilcox, retired pastor of the Sheridan Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will take place privately at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. Instead of flowers, those planning a memorial tribute are asked to consider the needs of the family. Envelopes for contributions will be available at the church, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, is entrusted with the arrangements and is serving the family.
