A native of Stanton, he had resided in Lansing 20 years before moving to Lake Odessa, four years ago. He was employed by the Oldsmobile plant in Lansing as a machinist, retiring in 1961. A world War I veteran, he was a member of the Masonitc Lodge at Dimondale. He married Evelyn Andrews at Remus in 1940, who survives and other survivors are seven daughters. Mrs. Claud (Wanita) Rainbolt and Mrs. Earl (Theresa) Weathers of Muskegon, Mrs. Donald (Beatrice) Barkley of S. Columbia, Mrs. Howard (Patrica) Hunt of Lansing, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Harrington of Lake Odessa, Valorie Jean of Lansing and Gay Lynn at home; a son Horace Jr. of Holt; two sisters Mrs. Ida Jones of Escondido, Calif., and Mrs. Howard (Lucy) Clark of Edmore; two brothers Walter of Indian Head, Md, and Clyde of Madisnville, Tenn., and several grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
