Virginia C. Cunningham, 79, of Hubbardston, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006,
at her home.  She was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Carson City, the daughter of Louis
and Louise Peiffer Russell.

Virginia married Bill Cunningham on Aug. 11, 1945, in Carson City.  They lived
in Hubbardston, where they raised five children, including daughters, Connie
Sheaffer, Betty and Rick Sloat, Debra and Doug Duliek, and sons, Fred Cunningham
and Russ and Carolyn Cunningham.  Virginia loved God, family, friends, her home
and Hubbardston.  She especially loved bringing joy to those around her by the
many cards and notes she sent daily to remember special times and occasions. 
She loved The Rusty Nail restaurant in Carson City, answering Santa Claus
letters for many years and making baby blankets.  She enjoyed having area
hunters stop by with their trophy bucks so she could snap a photo with her
ever-loaded Polaroid camera.  Virginia was a member of St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church, where she was very active in her younger years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on April 27, 1976; special
friend, John O’Brien, in 2000; and great-grandson, little Richie Hawley, in 1982.  

She is survived by her children and their spouses; brothers, Louis Russell,
Carroll and Martha Russell; sister-in-law, Rose Clark; 15 grandchildren, Brenda
and Richie Hawley, Paula Hawkins, Lora and Charles Batchelor, Margie and Richard
Kremer, Jennie and Matt Aylor, Corey and Jason Werner, Chelsea and friend
Taylor, Cassidy Cunningham, Gary Sheaffer, Tony and Pamela Coble, Casey and Tara
Cunningham, Ryan and Mendia Cunningham, Russ and Michelle Cunningham, Bart and
Wendy Cunningham, Derek and friend Erin; 16 great-grandchildren, Brandy Hawley,
Chase, Emily and Hayley Batchelor, McKenna, Madison, Josh and Hunter Cunningham,
Zarren, Keenan, Javean, Sariah and Trannon  Aylor, Reanna and Colton Cunningham,
Hayden Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews.  She loved them very much.  She
will be deeply missed by all.

Her funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,
Hubbardston, with Father Charlon Mason officiating.  Visitation is from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City, with a
rosary service at 7:30 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of
the family.
