Leonard William Cunningham, age 88, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 
surrounded by family.  Leonard was born September 4, 1925 to Andrew and Mabel 
(Navin) Cunningham.  

He grew up in Hubbardston, attending and graduating from St. John the Baptist 
School, while spending his summers living and working on the farm with his 
grandparents (Navins).  Leonard served in WWII, coming home to work at General 
Motors-Fisher Body in Lansing while also tending his small farm on McKenna Rd.

On May 8, 1948, he married Esther Griswold. 

He is survived by children Patty Schafer of Portland, Jack of New York, N.Y., 
Kay (Tom) Ryan of Carson City, and Mary (Wes) Carter of Crystal; five 
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his 
first wife, Esther; infant daughter, Sally, and grandson, Scott Schafer.

On June 22, 1996, Leonard married Wenola (Noddie) Kelly of Sandusky. 

He is survived by his wife, Noddie along with his second family: Paul (Elise) 
Kelly, Tom (Renate) Kelly, Judy Greenwood, and Sally (John) Armstrong, all of 
Sandusky; nine step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren.

Leonard was an avid card player and rarely missed watching the Detroit Tigers.  
He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, going to the casino, 
traveling, and spending time on their back patio with family and friends.

Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. May 
10 at St. John the Baptist Church in Hubbardston, with one hour visitation 
prior to mass, and a luncheon to follow.
