Cunningham, 23, was instantly killed Tuesday morning when the stock truck he was driving left the road and toppled down an embankment turning over in the ditch. The accident occurred about 10:30 in the Smock Hills on M-43 between Sunfield and Mulliken as Ronald was taking a load of stock to Detroit for the Lake Odessa Co-operative Association. Several of the eight head of cattle were injured, two so severely that they were immediately shot. The truck was practically demolished. Ronald was born in Woodland township south west of Lake Odessa and attended Woodland schools. For the past year he had been employed by the Co-op association. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cunningham; west of town, three brothers, Arnold, a twin of Holt, Dareld of Lansing and Dale at home, also his grandmother Mrs. Myrte Gillaland of Lansing. The body reposes at the Pickens Chapel until Friday noon when it will be taken to the Evangelical United Brethren church for services Friday afternoon at 2. The Rev. Heltzel will officiate and burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
