Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday, Sept. 24, conducted by Rev. W.A. Biss, under auspices of the local lodge of F. & A. M. Interment in River Ridge cemetery. Mr. Currie was born in Grattan, May 9, 1867, and after moving with his parents a few times, finally settled in Belding where he has lived for thirty-two years. He was married to Miss Luella Long in 1886 to which union were born three sons, all living, and it is worthy of note that he died in the same house in which he was married. He was an engineer by occupation capable, energetic and trusted, upright in business dealing, respected by neighbors and acquaintances and beloved by his family – a good citizen, as such a loss to the community. He was a member of the Masonic and Woodmen of America orders, the local lodges of which sent appropriate floral tributes to the funeral, and members of which accompanied the remains of their deceased brother to its last resting place. Mr. Currie leaves a wife, three sons, Byrl and Hollis of Belding and Lyle of Detroit, two grandchildren of Detroit, his mother, Mrs. L.E. Currie, Belding, a brother, Harvey, of Elwell, two sisters, Mrs. Olive Culver of Elwell and Mrs. Elva Pickhaver of Coldwater as well as many other relatives to mourn their loss.
