Bridge street. She suffered a stroke two weeks before her death and another a week later. Mrs. Currie was born in Akron, Ohio, May 17, 1876 and came to Belding when 17 years old. On January 8, 1894, she was married to the late Harvey Currie, who died in 1937. To this union 6 children were born. In 1939 their son, Larry, died, and in 1943, the daughter, Mrs. Herbert Kent, passed away, leaving four children to survive their mother; Mrs. Loren Chickering of Belding, Mrs. Norman Alsgaard of Greenville, Mrs. Lucille Binns of Greenville and one son, Otis, of Belding. Besides the son and daughters there are ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Currie was a member of the Rebecca lodge, Past Noble Grand Lodge, Royal Neighbors and Church of Christ. The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Fales-Huffman Funeral home with Rev. H.S. Ellis officiating and burial in Riverridge cemetery. Bearers were Ira Richards, Earl Richardson, Geo. Farthing , Wayne Elsie, Charles Woodruff and Mark Leetch.
