Curry, supervisor of Danby township, occurred Tuesday forenoon, following a stroke of paralysis with which she was stricken several weeks ago, a second stroke making its appearance a week ago last Sunday from which she failed to rally. Funeral services will be held at the residence this afternoon, in charge of Rev. Bancroft. Interment was made in Portland cemetery. Mrs. Calista Stiffler was born in Portland in 1864 and in July 1883, was united in marriage to James B. Curry. Shortly after their marriage Mr. Curry took his bride to Danby where they have since resided, with the exception of two years spent in Ionia where Mr. Curry was employed at the court house. Besides the husband two sons, William, of Detroit, and Lee, at home, survive. Also one brother, George Stiffler, of Portland, and one half-brother, John Hitchcock, of Lansing. Mrs. Curry was one of Portland and Danby’s highly esteemed and well loved matrons and will be greatly missed by a large number of warm friends who all extend their sympathy to the sorrowing family. She was a member of the Congregational Guild, Order of Eastern Stars and the Gleaners.
