CURTIS, an old Resident of that place: He had been Sick for sometime with the Asthma and While returning home at about 10 or 11 O’clock in the night, he was taken with a fit of coughing and leaned over the railway on the lower end of the bridge, a position in which he had often been seen before, and lost his balance and being unable to call assistance was drowned in the race. He was missed, search was made and his body found in the mill race lodged against one of the bridge timbers. The inquest resulted in a verdict of death by accidental drowning, and the theory that he was intoxicated was totally disproved.
