Sharp, in Battle Creek at ten o’clock Tuesday morning, Oct. 1, after a long period of ill health. Mrs. Curtis was born in Easton township, Nov. 26, 1876. She was married in February, 1896, to William J. Conner, of Easton, and with the exception of six years in which they lived in Ionia, their married life was spent on their farm in Easton. Mr. Conner died in February, 1921, and five years later Mrs. Conner was married to Earl J. Curtis, who survives her. She had been at the home of her daughter in Battle Creek since June. A regular attendant at the Ionia Church of Christ, Mrs. Curtis was also a member of Queen Esther Chapter, O.E.S., Beatrice Rebekah Lodge, and its Past Noble Grand club, and the Berlin Center Grange. She was active in Red Cross work and for many years sold real estate and insurance in Ionia. Surviving Mrs. Curtis, besides her husband and daughter, are two brothers, Charles McCord of Sears and Merritt McCord, Ionia, and two grandchildren. Rev. Wayne Davis will officiate at the funeral service which will be held from the Ionia Church of Christ at two o’clock Friday afternoon.
