Mr. Curtis had been in his usual health that day, and about six o’clock in the evening he started for the home of Ed. Worden, two miles south of the village, with a load of coal. While he was unloading the coal he suddenly fell over backwards into the wagon. Help was secured from near neighbors, and Dr. W.A. Grant was called, but Mr. Curtis had been dead some time when the doctor arrived. Heart failure is given as the cause of death. The body was brought to the home in the village and the relatives notified. Deceased was the son of the late Alfred Curtis, and was born in Albany, N.Y. In 1867 he removed to Lyons with his parents, and has since made his home here. He is survived by a son, Will Curtis of Lansing, a sister, Mrs. Geo. Faxon, and two brothers, Daniel and Henry Curtis. We cannot state when the funeral will be held, as the son has not yet arrived.
