Correspondence of The Standard: Another of Easton’s pioneers gone. Erastus Curtis, an old resident and highly respected citizen, died at his home in Easton, Nov. 9th. Mr. Curtis was born in Massachusetts May 10th, 1811. When about four years old he moved with his parents to Genesee County, N.Y. He remained there till 1854, when he moved to Ionia county, and located near the town line between Easton and Keene. He was married twice, his second wife, and six children by his first wife all surviving him. Mr. Curtis joined the free-will Baptist at the age of 18, and has lived an exemplary life that many that make a greater profession might pattern after. Elders Cornell and Madison conducted the funeral services.
