Feb. 16, 1971 Alfred W. Curtis, 28, of rural Belding, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday afternoon shortly before four o'clock at his trailer home according to Richard Hull, county coroner. Born in Muskegon, Aug 4, 1942, he was a son of Alfred and Eva Curtis, presently Mrs. Eva Buche of Greenville. He married the former Delores Frisbie in Belding, March 16, 1963 and was employed in the distribution department of shoe manufacturer in Rockford. For the past six months he had been suffering from a severe dislocated neck injury received in an auto accident, according to medical authorities. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ronald, 6 and Terry, 2; his mother, Mrs. Buche of Greenville and his father, Alfred Curtis; two sisters, Mrs. Darlene Beecham of Lansing, and Mrs. Doris Dempsey, Flint; two stepsisters, Penny and Patsy Buche of Greenville, and a half-brother, Mark Buche of Greenville. Funeral services will be at 2 pm February 18 at Huffman funeral home in Belding, the Rev. Wilfred Wood of Belding Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in Otisco cemetery.
