Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 May 1933

Mrs. Lillie Curtis, 74, died at her home in Ronald Thursday evening at 11
o’clock, following an illness that began with a stroke April 24.  Funeral
services will be held at the home north of Snow’s corners, Monday, at 12:45, and
at Shanty Plains church at 2 o’clock.  Burial will be in the Woodard Lake cemetery.

Mrs. Curtis was a native of Michigan and had lived for 50 years on the farm
where she died.  She was among the earlier members of the Shanty Plains church
and had worked with an untiring devotion for its interests.

Surviving are her husband, Lewis Curtis; a daughter Mrs. Peter Gallagher of
Ionia; four granddaughters; a sister, Mrs. Mary Curtis of Barryton.

[Transcriber’s note:  There are notations on the obituary card that she was born
19 Dec 1858 the daughter of Henary and Mary J. (Hathaway) Stiller.]
