Curtis, 69, died early Tuesday at Ionia County Memorial hospital where he had been a patient the past seven days. He had been ill the past year and a half. He was born February 5, 1899 in Odessa township, the son of William and Lettie Bretz Curtis. He had spent his entire life on the farm where he was born on Tasker Road. He attended Lake Odessa high school. In 1923 he was married to H. Nettie Miller and was a farmer until his retirement due to illness. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Lake Odessa and the Farm Bureau group. Besides his wife he leaves four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Gilliand of Freeport, Mrs. Lynn Pren_? Of Interlochen, Mrs. Ed Kenyon of rural Portland, Mrs. Kendall Cross of Lake Odessa; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Allison Tolles of Hastings. Funeral services will be at the Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa, Thursday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
