IONIA- Ronald L. Curtis, 60, of Ionia, died Monday evening at Ionia County Memorial

Hospital.

Curtis was born in Ronald Township on December 10, 1924. He was the son of Alvin and

Vera Coy Curtis.

He attended Ionia Public Schools, Syracuse University in New York and Davenport 
College.

He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Curtis was married to Thera (Terry) Brewer, of St. Johns, on February 3, 1944. They

made their home for 14 years on State Street in Ionia before moving to his childhood

home on Yeomans Street in 1961.

Curtis retired in March of 1984, from Corporate Service Inc., in Grand Rapids. He 
was a safety consultant for the firm. Prior to working for Corporate, he was 
employed by Mitchell-Bentley, Inc., in Ionia.

Curtis was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, the National Safety Council, 
the United Methodist Mens Association and SPEBSQSA. He was awarded the American 
Society of Safety Engineers Professional Member Emeritus in May of 1965.

Surviving are his wife, Terry, five sons, Randy, Rick, Brad and Brian, all of Ionia,

and Barry of Chatsworth, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, a brother, Alvin of Cedar Springs, 
Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. Joe Coralee Lodden of Pierson, Mich.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00, at the Zion United Methodist Church. The

Rev. Kay Williams will officiate.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Garden 
Cemetery. The family will be at Leddick Funeral Home Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Memorial funds have been established for the Michigan Heart Association and for the

Zion United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
