Wave, Thurs. June 24, 1965 Services Held for Mrs. Vera E. Curtis Mrs. Vera E. Curtis, 73, of route one, Woodland, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home after a lingering illness. She was a native and life long resident of Woodland area. She married Sylvester Curtis, March 4, 1906. Mrs. Curtis attended the Woodland United Brethren church. Surviving are her husband, eleven daughters, Mrs. Howard (Thelma) Barnum, Mrs. Edgar (Altie) Leftiel, and Mrs. George (Mildred) Waldron of Hastings, Mrs. Irving (Violet) Jordan, and Mrs. Howard (Letha) Southwell of Woodland, Mrs. Don (Dorothy) McLeod and Mrs. Irol (Nellie) Wells of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Gilbert (Joyce) Vroman and Mrs. Artie Heffelbower of Saranac and Mrs. Morris (Barbara) Weeks of Middleville: five sons, Kendall, Elwin, Carl and Glenn of Woodland and Ivan of Bolivar, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Foreman of Trenton; a half sister, Mrs. Raymond Lee of Junction City, Oregon; 47 grand children and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in the Woodland Memorial cemetery.
