LETTIE CURTIS DIES AT AGE OF 87 Mrs. Lettie Curtis, 87, died Tuesday night at the home of her son, Mr and Mrs Voight Curtis north-west of town, after an illness of eight weeks. She was a pioneer resident of this vicinity, daughter of Ephraim and Elizabeth Bretz and was born and lived her entire life on the farm where she died. Her husband William died five years ago last August. She was a former member of the 3 x 4 club and was a member of the West Odessa Church before it was transferred to Lake Odessa. Surviving besides the son Voight are another son Harold of Lake Odessa, a daughter Mrs Allison Tolles of Woodland, ten grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 at the Pickens Chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. J.A. Beardsley of Detroit will officiate. Charles Bretz, a brother of Mrs Curtis, who had resided at Manistique for the past 25 years, died March 30 at his home and funeral services were held there April 3. Mr Bretz was born and lived here, residing on the Cotton farm in the Tamarac district at one time. He also was a former editor of the newspaper at Saranac.
