March 27, 1953 Excerpts from A Washington Obituary LOU M. CURTIS Died March 25, 1953- age 62 Funeral services will be held in Mills & Mills Chapel this Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.Rev. Clade H. Lorimer officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr.Curtis was born in Belding, Michigan, June 2, 1890. He moved to Pullman, Washington at ate eighteen. There he became associated with a mercantile business. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War I. After the war, he established h is own mercantile store in Pullman. In 1934 he came to Olympia and for eight years was supervisor of state liquor stores. Later he started the well-known Lazy Lou Tradin'Post on Fourth Avenue West. He was a member of Masonic orders including the Scottish Rite, Blue Lodge and Shrine. Until recently he was a member of the Kiwanis Club. Surviving him are his wife, Jessamine O Curtis; a daughter, Jerry Lou Curtis. Spokane; a brother, Burt Curtis, and a sister, L'Nor Southworth, both in Lansing, Michigan.
