Curtis, 81, wife of Henry R. Curtis of Lyons died at her home Saturday evening, March 25, following serveral years’ illness. Mrs. Curtis was born in the year 1857, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Oaks of Centerville in St. Joseph county. She was graduated from the Albion school and came from Albion to Lyons where she made her home with a brother, Dustin Oaks, now deceased. She taught school a year near Lyons and was married to Henry R. Curtis. Since her marriage, Mrs. Curtis had been a resident of Lyons. Surviving her beside the husband are a daughter, Mrs. E. J. Hall of Detroit and three sons, Rex Curtis of Lansing, Arthur Curtis of Lowell and Henry Curtis of Parma. Eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held from the Lyons Methodist Episcopal church Tuesday afternoon, March 28, at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Lyons cemetery. Pallbearers will be past patrons of the Easton Star.
