Curtis, wife of Alfred A. Curtis, who departed this life Thursday, May 31, 1906, aged 82 years, 7 months and 20 days. Her last illness was long and painful, yet she endured it with patience and fortitude. Phoebe S. Bradbury was born in Schenectady, New York, October 11, 1823, and was married to Alfred A. Curtis April 14, 1842, and for 64 years they walked life’s pathway together, the union proving a most happy one. In 1866 they came to Lyons, moving into their present home, and becoming among our best and most highly respected citizens. At the age of 12 years deceased was converted and united with the Presbyterian Church and in the faith she lived and died. “Slight of body, sweet spirited and filled with heart loyalty, no picture in memory’s hall will longer endure than that of her who was a wife, mother, friend, and who in all was faithful.” An aged husband, five children, Mrs. Geo. Faxon, Henry Curtis, Clarence Curtis, Daniel Curtis, all of Lyons, and Mrs. W. A. Jenner of New York City, and 12 grandchildren survive. The funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. H. E. Wylie, assisted by the following choir: Mrs. Bradt, Mrs. Steadman, W. R. Grant and John Hale with Miss Beatrice Anderson as accompanist. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The pall bearers were Daniel Curtis, Henry Curtis, Clarence Curtis and Geo. D. Faxon. Interment in Lyons cemetery. Card of Thanks: Words are inadequate to express our thanks to all those who rendered kindly assistance during the illness and burial of our loved one. We sincerely thank you all. Alfred A. Curtis Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
