She was born July 1858, on the old Foght homestead one mile north of Lake Odessa where she lived until her marriage to Henry Curtis, September 6, 1877. She and her husband were active in the Farmers club of the early years of nineteen hundred and were affiliated with the Methodist church here. She was very highly respected and beloved for her sweet, gentle ways, always respected wherever she was. Her young daughter, her husband and later a son Fred Curtis have preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Charles of Houghton Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Champlin and Mrs. Charles Reese, both of Lake Odessa; a brother Frank Foght, of Lake Odessa; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was largely attended at the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon. Rev. S. S. Cox of the Calvary U.B. church gave the sermon and a quartet composed of Mrs. Matt Armstrong, Mrs. W. C. McCartney, S. W. Dann and Richard Sadler sang two hymns accompanied by Mrs. Thomas Johnson. Burial was at Lakeside amid beautiful flowers.
