The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, April 14, 1897
Edith M. Curtis, wife of Seymour E. Curtis, of Easton, died March 16, 1897, 
aged 31 years, 9 months and 14 days.  She was married to Mr. Curtis nearly ten 
years ago.  The children born to this union were Fern and Almina; both are now 
living with their grandparent, Joseph Curtis, in Easton.  They are two bright 
little girls.  Mrs. Curtis was well known in Ionia, and highly respected by 
all that knew her.  She was a member of the Baptist church.  She had neither 
father nor mother living; her husband and one only sister were all the near 
relatives she had to mourn her departure.  Her remains were laid in the Easton 
cemetery; funeral services conducted by Rev. E. M. Jeffers.
