Ionia Sentinel Standard
Azor E. Curtiss, 64, Saranac farmer, died at the Ionia County Memorial 
hospital Thursday, March 15 at 8:45 pm after being a patient there since the 
end of last week.  He was born July 17, 1896, in Easton and spent most of his 
life in Ionia County.  He fell on the ice a few months ago fracturing his hip.

Surviving are the wife, Jessie; six sons, Dale of Alto, Charles of Portland, 
Milo of Hastings, Loren of Leslie and Irven and Lynn of Saranac; five 
daughters, Mrs. Elton Thorp of Ionia, Mrs. Lyle Darby of Saranac, Mrs. Lloyd 
Hawley of Belding, Mrs. Gary Young of Nashville and Mrs. Bert Town of Belding; 
35 grandchildren; three brothers, Stephen of Lake Odessa, Earl, Ionia and Vern 
of Hastings; and one sister, Mrs. Alfred Callar of Owosso.

Funeral services will be held Monday at the Morris Funeral Home at 2 pm with 
Rev. Levi Slagle of Clarksville officiating.  Interment will be in Saranac 
Cemetery.
