Curtiss, 83, of Chesaning, formerly of Portland, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday August 4, 2006. She was born on September 27, 1921 in Grand Rapids the daughter of Ezra and Hallie (Hatfield) Johnson. Lucille loved to garden, sew, and was a wonderful homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and going to yard sales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Curtiss and a son David Curtiss. Surviving are her 7 daughters, Joyce (Al) Winwright of Muir, MI, Judy (Garland) Masters of Oregon, Brenda (Scott) Drake of Grand Rapids, Phyllis (James) Patterson of Saranac, Pamela (Martin) Steinke of Oakley, MI, Denise Ladisky of Portland, and Deborah (Louis) Jehnzen of Rodney, MI; 3 sons, Larry (Katie) Curtiss of Olivet, MI, Bruce (Carol) Curtiss of Lyons, MI and Brian Curtiss of Saranac, MI; numerous grand and great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Morrow of Oklahoma and Betty Niedhart of St. Louis, Mo. Services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Bailey August 5 at the Schrauben- Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland with interment at East Sebewa Cemetery.
