Ionia County News, 31 Jan 1957

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Ionia,
for earl J. Curtiss, 78, retired Ionia farmer.  Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery
at Lake Odessa.  Mr. Curtiss died Monday of a stroke in an Ionia Convalescent
Home, where he had been confined for two weeks.  He had been living at West
Riverside Drive in South Ionia since his retirement 15 years ago.   He was a
member of Ionia Lodge, No. 36, F. & A.M., Ionia Chapter R.A.M., No. 14, and the
Ionia Knight Templar No. 11.

Surviving is one son, Marion, of Kalamazoo; one daughter, Clare of Grand Rapids;
one brother, Stephen, of Saranac; one sister, Mrs. Alfred Callard, of Owosso,
and two grand children.

Pallbearers were:  Frank Bennett, William Storch, Hazen Hines, Charles Potter,
Roy Webber, and Blaine Laden.
